Pipilo is a collection of bilingual audio stories about nature connection and emotional intelligence.
Pipilo (pronounced Pip-i-lo) is the Spanish word for the bird genus “towhee,” which are forest-dwelling birds that live in our home state of California.
Pipilo Tales shares nourishing stories to help children learn about both the outside world and their own inside world through: nature-connection, language development, and emotional awareness.
We want children (ours and yours) to learn from a village of aunties and uncles, so we invited them to share their stories.
At Pipilo Tales, we strive to share:
Stories that build empathy.
Stories that appreciate and celebrate other cultures.
Stories that inspire us to be our best self.
Stories that help us find our way.
We hope you’ll share these stories with the children in your lives, and find them to be as entertaining as they are meaningful.
Pipilo Tales was founded by Mariangelica Duque and Melissa Fontaine in 2019. A loving nest to nurture this little Pipilo bird was built. In 2022, when its wings were ready to spread, Leah Ray Mendez became the new Head and Chief Storyteller/StoryCatcher to usher Pipilo into its next stage in life.
And do you have a story to share? We want to hear it. Email inquiries to: stories (at) pipilotales.com
